Fall Roundup

17 Oct, 2019

With the closing of the orders for North Vernon Parks and Recreation’s fall soccer league, we say goodbye and look back upon our fall season.

With the advent of picking up Greensburg Community High School’s banner business, and Jac-Cen-Del’s Team and Individual (T&I) photos, on top of Jennings County’s T&I photos, it was a busy quarter. So busy, in fact, that I wasn’t afforded much of an opportunity to shoot for The Republic, and didn’t get much of a chance to shoot action sports at all! And sometimes, you just need a little “field therapy” to get over spending all your time at the computer editing pictures.

I’ve moved to some new servers and have definitely had some issues. With the “front” server (j-t-p.com) it took a while to get the security certificate set up properly, but it seems to be behaving well now. You may note that I’m “switching gears” in an effort to push the portrait photography more. I’ll still be doing the action and T&I photography, but I’m trying to make myself more known in the portrait world.

The picture server has had and, to some extent, continues to have issues. It’s a brand new service, and I knew going into it that there would be things that I had to deal with, but the low cost (which allows me to keep prices down) and the features (should be no more “missed” pictures) will make it worth the issues on the front end, but I’ll save all that for another post.

I’ve got a few scheduled shoots for the end of October, but it’s pretty much going to be my “recharge” time as I gear up for winter sports in November.

Looking forward to seeing you all.
